About the Galveston-Houston Chapter
The Knights of Columbus Galveston-Houston Chapter has 92 member councils. We are located in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, which has nearly 130 councils with members in 31 assemblies belonging to the First District of Texas in the Our Lady of Guadalupe Province.

Greater Charity
As a chapter, we coordinate regional charitable efforts. This allows councils to participate in larger initiatives they might not be able to manage alone.
Greater Unity
Chapter meetings allow councils to share ideas, successful programs, and strategies for membership recruitment and retention. It enables smaller councils to learn what works in larger ones, facilitating growth and program improvement. The Chapter creates bridges between the local councils and Archdiocesan, state, and supreme leadership.
Greater Fraternity
Chapter membership connects your local council to a larger “band of brothers,” reinforcing that you are part of a massive, global network, which can increase motivation and boost morale for local members.
Greater Devotion
Ceremonies, celebrations, and formation activities are stronger when councils come together. Our chapter helps disseminate information regarding upcoming, state, and supreme programs and publish regional schedules for ceremonies and degrees.
Charity, Unity, and Fraternity
Historically held separately, today the Knights of Columbus holds joint ceremonies for Knights earning their First (charity), Second (unity), and Third (fraternity) Degrees.
Fourth Degree Knighthood
Knights in our who have earned their Fourth Degree are known as ‘Sir Knight’ and have the opportunity to join Assemblies. A Knight may submit an application known as Form 4 to the First District of Texas to become a Fourth Degree Knight.
Diocesan Training Opportunities
Financial Secretary Trainers provide training to new and existing financial secretaries, aiming to conduct at least two training sessions per diocese in the upcoming fraternal year, along with several one-on-one virtual training sessions as needed.
