The Area Equestrian Competition will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at SIRE Spring Stables.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Opening Ceremonies begins at 9:00 a.m. Competition beings at 9:00 a.m. and concludes by 3:00 p.m.
Interested in VOLUNTEERING?
Attire: Please dress for comfort and mobility. Shorts (mid-thigh or longer-no short shorts, please) , a tee shirt , and tennis shoes are the most comfortable attire and absolutely acceptable. We suggest you wear comfortable shoes because you will be on your feet most of the time.
Parking: General parking is available on site at SIRE.
Special Olympics has a no animal policy. Other than service animals, no animals are allowed at this event. Please do not bring any animals or pets with you.
AGE ELIGIBILITY FOR VOLUNTEERS:
* 15 years and older can volunteer by themselves.
* 8-14 year olds must be accompanied by parent, guardian, or chaperone.
* 8-14 year olds in a group situation need a 4 to 1 ratio-meaning one adult (18 years old or older) for every four children. These groups usually include scout troops, school classes, church groups, etc.
* 7 years and younger are not given volunteer assignments, but are welcomed and encouraged to be cheerleaders as long as they are accompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperone. Please do not 'purchase' a ticket for this position.
For security purposes, please make sure to bring a current photo ID with you to the volunteer check-in area.
Special Note: Volunteer positions are subject to be reassigned or be canceled based on the final event position needs. If this happens, we will do our best to reassign in a position closely related to your selected position.
Volunteer positions will be held for on 20 minutes after the registration time. If you arrive after this time you will be reassigned to Fans in the Stands until a new volunteer position becomes available.

- If you need to cancel the volunteer position, simply use the link on eventbrite and we will be able to remove the name(s) from the event.
- This website has all the information you will need to volunteer: map, shift times, what to expect, etc. Once you “purchase” your ticket to volunteer you will be sent a confirmation email, the day prior to the event you will be sent a reminder email that you signed up to volunteer.
- In the event, that we have inclement weather, we will email or send a text message to update all volunteers immediately.
