"In February, two members of St. Edward Council 14512--Spring, TX. joined

with the American Wheelchair Mission and distributed 2 containers of

wheelchairs (576 chairs) to needy recipients in 4 Dioceses around the

province of Manila. Brother John Williams, Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston

Wheelchair Chairman and Brother Dr. Virgil Frando and his wife, Dr. Angie

Frando along with representatives from the American Wheelchair Mission

distributed wheelchairs during a 4-day span to hundreds of recipients. It is

said that each wheelchair changes and improves the lives of 10 people and

thus over 5700 lives were impacted. Helping one person might not change the

whole world but it could change the world for one person. This indeed was a

life changing experience for both the recipients and the donors."
