Hello Brothers & Leaders of the Archdiocese!

I hope this message finds you and your family in the best of health.

Not mentioned in the Chapter Meeting this past Tuesday, and in line with having KC name branding in the young family arena, we are asking any Knights, Leaders, Councils, etc., for 2 hours and 15 minutes of assistance with this year's Steps for Students. While we have some councils serving in other capacities with this race on this day, let this serve as a great opportunity for you and your council to be of service and show our support for our Catholic schools. I realize this is a last minute request, but I know there are many Knights out there that may not be doing much before 12 noon. Please do what you can to help and see the below message sent to me from fellow Knight, Michael Schillaci of the Archdiocese:

"Thank you for reaching out to the Archdiocese and offering the support of the Archdiocesan Knights of Columbus Chapter to this year’s race.   We appreciate your offer and would like to ask your team to consider helping us in the following way this year.

Our greatest need this year is for a team of able bodied volunteers to assist with the tear down after the race.  This team would help us remove signage from the course and surrounding area, taking down tents, tables and chairs and bringing them to the staging area using flatbed golf carts. The shift would be from 9:15 – 11:30 am.

Your team should report to Volunteer check-in behind the Chancery building on Jefferson between Fannin and San Jacinto.  The roads immediately around the chancery and Co-Cathedral will be closed for the race so it might be best to approach from the western side of town.  I have attached a copy of the site and route maps.

The onsite contact for your team will be Naomi Cooper.  Once the team is gathered she will ensure that everyone know what to do. Again, thank you for your support of Catholic education.

God bless,

Michael Schillaci
